    Title: Teens and acne
Our hearts go out to teens today with acne. Often times the parents have a hard time than the kids do!

One customer, in particular, took our suggestions. To start, he uses our Tea Tree Soap as a good, natural antiseptic cleanser; then apply our Shea Butter with added Tea Tree Oil...a dab at a time mainly at night. Well..what a difference! His parents are thrilled...I've seen his face and it's amazingly clearer and has nearly no red irritation.

This is just one of the great testimonials we receive. We love our job!!

Note: We recommend you see a physician with any skin issues.

    Title: To-Shea for men!
I just had to share this...

My sister called to say my brother-in-law, who does not like any type of skin care, WANTS MORE SHEA BUTTER! She was shocked!

Funny, when we are at our weekly local market, it's the women who insist their men need it...but the guys just make a face. Once they use it though, they are hooked!

    Have you "SHEA'd" today???

Title: Our Business Model and the Economy
For both our WHOLESALE and RETAIL customers, you need confidence about with whom you do business. Here at New Mexico Soap, we've had our eye on economic forces for years and positioned our company as early as 2006 to ensure your needs are met. Ours, too. Here's our Business Model with regards to the challenging Economy we all face today...

    1. We have no debt...
    2. We have excellent credit...
    3. We did not build fancy facilities...
    4. We do not pay fancy executive salaries...(we have no executives)...(everyone around here grabs a broom and cleans)...
    5. We expand retail operations very carefully and with caution...
    6. We have expanded on the concept that you build a successful business "One Customer At A Time."

Additionally, we had talks with all our suppliers, i.e., BOXES-WRAPPING-ETC. In those talks, we've asked two questions: (1) Are you going to be around next year and (2) Can you lower your prices? A few laughed but most appreciated our questions and provided proof of their commitments to New Mexico Soap. We also pressed them about shipping costs, something everyone deals with daily.

One final note...We love what we do! Yes, this is very true. We are not the types to run off to Tahiti and leave our business with hired labor. We are pretty much 24-7 business people. Our staff is constantly thinking and everyone is encouraged to be creative...even with a broom in hand.

    Title: New Mexico Magazine feature
Wooo Hooo!! We are so excited to have been featured in the June '08 issue of our own New Mexico Magazine's Unique Boutique section!

Jeanette Alt Romero did such a nice job in her descriptions of our products. She wrote:

Red or Clean? These chiles are for your bathtub, not your belly, and are made with vegetable oils-not detergents or sulfates. The red one smells like cinnamon, the green like fresh limes.

Animal Attraction: Around AD 1100, the Mimbres culture occupied southwestern New Mexico and decorated its pottery with bold black-and-white animal motifs. These days, it's hard to resist Mimbres Ancient Art Soap.

It's Nuts: Locally produced pecan meal makes these kokopell and bear-fetish soaps perfect for exfoliating dry desert skin.

    Title: Summertime Shea Butter care
Please remember to NOT leave your Shea butter in your car. If you do, open it VERY CAREFULLY as it will turn to liquid and you'll be VERY upset! Ask me how I know!! LOL!!

Title: Why will soap clean our skin? And how?
We've been asked this question many times. Here's a short version of why and how soap can clean your skin...

Soap is a combination of both hydrophilic and oleophilic molecules. Hydrophilic molecules are attracted to water. The oleophilic molecules attract oil. It's this combination and attraction that cleans our skin.

So what actually happens when we lather up with a good soap bar? The oleophilic molecules are attracted to the oil on our skin and the hydrophilic molecules suspend that oil so it can be washed away. A good soap lather will gather around skin oil, hold it in suspension and wash it all down the drain.

There you go! The scientific and molecular reason for soap's cleaning ability. All in two paragraphs.

Title: The War On Shipping Prices...
We combat prices everyday. It's a war. One feels like a General in a losing battle. For example, shipping is going up all across the board in answer to higher fuel costs. But there is a way to win this battle.

When orders occur, we look at the shipping costs and try to suggest back to the customer an economical shipping formula. In most cases, we can add another bar or two to your order and still maintain the same shipping price. It's all about maximizing your shipping costs...getting the most out of the cost of shipping...winning another battle with prices.

    Title: Shea Butter
Shea Butter continues to be readily accepted by more people as the Skin Care of choice. Our customers are returning for more. They comment positively with the statement of "I cannot live without it" and purchasing for their friends and family. We hear it is on the rise to replace cocoa butter.

Just recently we learned from a customer that, since her husband has diabetes, she uses the Shea to massage his feet, and it's the best she has found.
